Moira Thomson
Since 1988 Moira has been creating sumptuous garments and transforming interiors with luxurious home fashions. Her inspiration shines through in her work, combining the finest fabrics with complimentary designs.
Moira started designing very young and after moving to California, decided the time was right to launch her business ‘Mo Designs International’ and in 1988 opened for business. Moira was able to learn and develop her skills at design and make-through by attending workshops and seminars and working closely with her clients. She succeeded in creating a variety of women & men fashions and soft furnishings for the home & office.
Since relocating back to Scotland she gained a diploma in fashion & clothing technology with design and from 2008 has been teaching privately, running sewing workshops and teaching Evening, Spring & Summer Courses at the Glasgow School of Art.
Moira’s background as a designer/tutor led her to work within the arts in higher education and she recently worked on a Research Project at the Edinburgh College of Art assisting the Project Leader.
Moira is now focusing on teaching fashion skills to others who have a passion for learning new skills and achieving their own goals in fashion. She is happy to see the realisation of her work in offering these classes and courses with you in mind.
